Here’s how the job usually runs, so you know what to expect.

✅Step 1: Measure and site check

We come out and measure your windows or doors properly. This visit is where we prevent problems later.

We check:

• Opening size, level, and squareness
• Wall material (brick, render, cladding, concrete, steel frame)
• Where the shutter box will sit
• Safe fixing points for tracks and brackets
• Access and working height
• For businesses: shopfront clearance, trading hours, and security needs

We’ll also help you choose the right type:

• Manual roller shutters (strap or winder)
• Electric roller shutters (switch or remote, and optional smart control)

✅Step 2: Confirm the best setup for your space

Before we supply anything, we confirm details like:

• Colour and finish
• Inside vs outside mounting (where suitable)
• Manual vs motorised operation
• Any obstacles near the opening (pipes, downpipes, signage, cameras)
• How you want it to look from the street

This step matters because roller shutters are made to suit your exact opening and site conditions.

✅Step 3: Order and scheduling

Once everything is confirmed, we organise your shutters and book an install date that suits your household or business. If you have a shopfront, we can plan around low-traffic hours where possible.

✅Step 4: Installation day (the physical fit)

On install day, the core work usually follows this order:

1. Set out and mark-up We mark positions for tracks, brackets, and the head box so everything lines up.
2. Install side guides (tracks) Tracks keep the shutter straight and stable. This is one of the most important steps for smooth operation.
3. Fit the head box / pelmet This is the top housing that protects the rolled curtain and keeps the system tidy.
4. Fit the shutter curtain (slats) and bottom rail We align the curtain so it rolls evenly and sits properly inside the guides.
5. Stops, locks, and finishing Depending on your model, we install stops and locking features and tidy the edges for a neat look.
6. Alignment and adjustment We adjust tension and alignment so it opens and closes smoothly.

✅Step 5: Electrical connection (for motorised shutters)

If you choose an electric shutter, the motor needs to be set up and tested. Depending on the site, that may include:

• Connecting to an existing power point (where appropriate)
• Running cabling to a switch location
• Pairing remotes and setting limits
• Integrating with smart control (if chosen)

We’ll explain the electrical side during quoting so you know what’s involved before the job starts.

✅Step 6: Testing and handover

Before we leave, we test everything and show you how to use it.

We check:

• Up/down limits
• Smooth travel inside guides
• Remote or switch response (electric)
• Locking/closing (where applicable)
• Noise, rubbing, and clearance

Then we walk you through basic use and care, so your shutter stays in good shape.
